Know Yourself More Deeply. Trust Yourself More Fully. Live More Intentionally

I am Dr. Laurie Bruce, a clinical psychologist, mindfulness coach, and host of the podcast From Both Sides of the Couch. For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of providing psychotherapy, consultation, and supervision to thousands of clients, students and other therapists. I am particularly passionate about helping women learn to reconnect with and trust themselves, particularly in mid-life.

Many women have spent years caring for others, meeting expectations, and doing what they believed they were supposed to do. Along the way, they may have had very little time or space to become deeply acquainted with themselves. The challenge isn't a lack of knowledge. It's finding the time, support, and permission to slow down, reflect, and begin living with greater intention.

My work focuses on mindfulness, nervous system regulation, resilience, self-compassion, and sustainable well-being. Whether through my podcast, newsletter, speaking, or my community Resilient & Restored, my goal is to help people reconnect with themselves, restore their well-being, and learn to know and trust themselves.

If you are searching for a more sustainable and intentional way of living, I invite you to join me. Together, we can explore mindfulness, authenticity, self trust, emotional well-being, and the small practices that help us feel more connected to ourselves and the lives we want to live.

You haven’t lost yourself. You’ve become disconnected from yourself—and you can come back.

You’ve spent years building a life that matters to you. You’ve taken care of your family, built your career, shown up for the people you love, and become very good at handling whatever needs to be handled.

But somewhere along the way, you may have started to wonder, When did I stop feeling like myself?

Maybe you’re more tired than you used to be. Maybe you have trouble slowing down, even when you have the opportunity. Maybe you’re so accustomed to noticing what everyone else needs that you aren’t quite sure what you need anymore.

And maybe the hardest part is that, from the outside, your life looks pretty good.

You don't necessarily want a different life. You want to be more present for the life you already have.

I'm here to help you reconnect with yourself.

FAQs

Answers to Your Questions About Therapy and Coaching with Dr. Bruce

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy involves the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions. It is designed to address psychological symptoms, emotional distress, and mental health concerns that may significantly impact a person’s functioning and well-being.

Coaching is generally more future-focused and supports personal growth, self-awareness, and intentional change. Rather than treating a mental health condition, coaching helps you better understand yourself, clarify what you want, and develop the skills and practices to create meaningful change in your life.
